choir sign ups for January-June 2012 (current members do not need to sign up again)
January 2, 2012
Dear 4th and 5th Graders and Parents,
This is your second chance to join choir this year! You must turn this in before January 17th to join for the rest of this year!
Choir has always been near and dear to my heart. There are not many better ways to spend your time than in making music with others who love it as much as you do, and singing is especially wonderful because it is your own personal voice making the music. What a great feeling! We will learn more about our voices and learn songs to perform for our own concerts, assemblies and the community. We will have an evening performance on May 21st here at Gubser. We also usually perform at the Keizer Iris Festival on the third Saturday of May.
We meet in the music room on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:00 to 9:00. Choir will re-start on Wednesday, January18th. Wait quietly outside the front doors of the school for Ms. Albertson to let you in. Please arrive as close to 8:00 as possible as there is no supervision of students before 8:00.
Younger siblings may come to choir with their older brothers and sisters. The only way that some students can be in choir is if their younger sibling is able to come along. We have parent volunteers who supervise them in the library doing quiet activities i.e. playing with Legos, coloring, reading.
Students who are in orchestra or band may also be in choir. Fifth grade students who are in band or 2nd year orchestra at Whiteaker go to band and orchestra Every morning but Wednesday. On Wednesdays, they come to choir at Gubser. We are sometimes flexible when getting close to a concert.
Please sign and return the bottom portion of this letter to me, Ms. Albertson. I look forward to a sensational time of singing!!!
A copy of this letter will be up on my Gubser Music Blog http://gubsermusic.blogspot.com/ or go to Gubser’s Website and click on teacher pages. Check out my blog for pictures of Gubser music programs and events.
Sincerely,
Holly Albertson
